Here's the pattern we see constantly.
A business has been around for years. Real customers, real reputation, work they're proud of. Then you search for what they do — “pressure washing Las Vegas,” “family dentist near me,” whatever it is — and they're nowhere. Page two, page three. Meanwhile a company that opened eighteen months ago sits at the top.
It feels unfair, because it is. Ranking well isn't a measure of how good you are. It's a measure of how well your website communicates what you do to a search engine. Those are different skills, and there's no reason a contractor or a dentist should have the second one.
The frustrating part is what it costs you quietly. Nobody calls to say “I would have hired you but I couldn't find you.” The jobs just go somewhere else, and you never hear about it.
